Rod E. Fehlman has been a practicing attorney since 1996. His law practice is dedicated exclusively to residential real estate law.
Mr. Fehlman represents primarily agents and brokers in a wide variety of matters, including mediation, arbitration, litigation, Department of Real Estate complaints, Multiple Listing Service disputes and commission demands.
Mr. Fehlman currently represents in excess of 6,000 licensees in San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties. He is a regular lecturer at several major real estate brokerages including Century 21, Re/Max, Keller Williams, Coldwell Banker and Re/Max. Mr. Fehlman also represents real estate principals and has acted as panel counsel to several major insurance carriers on a select basis.
In 2002, Mr. Fehlman founded a real estate legal defense company which operates under the name Real Estate Legal Services (“RELS”). RELS provides a wide range of loss prevention services to real estate professionals. More than 40,000 transactions have closed under the RELS program.
In 2011, Mr. Fehlman published a reference guide for agents and brokers titled “No Suit For You.” The book identifies many of the legal pitfalls concerning offers, counter offers, contingencies, inspections, disclosures, short sales and the Home Equity Sales Act.
Mr. Fehlman is also an adjunct professor at Cal Poly Pomona, where he teaches a risk management course for senior Civil Engineering students.
